THE DOG REUNITED WITH THE SOLDIER WHO SAVED HER ABROAD ON LIVE TV

This is a moving moment of a soldier being reunited with a dog he rescued and adopted while serving in Iraq.

Thanks to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), the dog was transported via location to John F Kennedy International Airport and then to Tampa, where she was going to meet the lifesaver.

The moment was broadcast live and their reunion was resistless.

Nick Pierzchalski was a black hawk pilot for over a year in Iraq. Nick, with a big heart, always took care of his colleagues.

After all, even his job as a pilot had to keep other soldiers safe. But, in the meantime, Nick has found time to take care of other helpless creatures, like stray dogs.

Even abroad, the brave pilot adopted a dog a few months old and took care of her. He and his soldiers used to feed Airys – as Nick calls the stray dog – with their own food.

They then built a dog crate for her and even ordered dog food for her. In return, the energetic dog kept the soldiers’ spirits up and she was a source of happiness for everyone in the camp.

Nick said: “She was part of the pack of dogs and she ran towards us after the crew got out of the flight line. We all have pets at home. Just to give us a little home there, it’s the whole world to us.”

The soldier quickly developed feelings for the dog he rescued, so he decided to bring her to America. However, he was aware that it was not an easy task. Fortunately, with the help of SPCA, after nearly a year, Nick and his beloved furry companion are about to reunite on American soil.

Nick said: “I don’t think this is going to happen. She’s part of the family now.”
