In North Carolina, a woman by the name of Valanda Cruz came across a puppy that was living in appalling conditions while she was making her way to a store. This abandoned dog was soaked from the rain and her experience was filled with grief and resemblance to life.
Valanda was aware that she needed to help her right away. She wrote:
“My heart sank as I left the object. This little one has spent a lot of time outside in the cold and the rain. She was chastised. I could tell that the baby had been abandoned.”
The woman approached the dog to get its attention, wrapped her in a blanket to keep her warm, and stood at her side for more than an hour. When the dog was fully prepared to be saved, Valanda called her friend Se Mass, who is in charge of finding stray dogs in the city. After Se arrived in less than 20 minutes, the dog was sent to a shelter. Valanda stated:
She had been abandoned by humans, but I hope that by providing her with food, a warm blanket, and my love, she will once more have faith in other people.
The dog was given the name Cassie and his face was now filled with joy.
